Julia Gomez Joins Capital Analytics Advisory Board
Durham, NC – December 12, 2011 – Capital Analytics, a consultancy that’s revolutionizing the way companies evaluate investments in their people, today announced the appointment of Julia Gomez to its advisory board.
Julia Gomez is a global thought leader and practitioner in people strategy and focuses on how people can best contribute to bottom-line business results. She successfully built and led three critical People functions at JetBlue Airways (Employee Relations, People Analytics and Employee Engagement). Gomez is an expert in making people the top competitive advantage for any organization. She has collaborated with colleagues at companies such as Cisco, Morgan Stanley, ESPN, and Winn Dixie.
At JetBlue, Gomez transitioned the entire employee survey program from an external vendor to an in-house function to better align with and adapt to critical business needs. Gomez says, “Many organizations are not fully aware of the most critical people data available and do not fully utilize data to their advantage.” Her vision of integrating people data with business data came to fruition and positioned JetBlue to be among the leaders in HR analytics (as mentioned in Harvard Business Review, October 2010). She recruited and trained analysts to be not just number-crunchers, but able to see a broad picture and bridge anecdotal information and curiosity with quantitative skills.
Gomez received a B.A. in International Relations from Emory University with a minor in French, and is fluent in both French and Spanish. She received her Master’s degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University. Prior to joining JetBlue, Gomez was an Airline Analyst in Equity Research at Morgan Stanley, providing investment advice to thousands of institutional clients. She also served as a mediator and arbitrator on Wall Street for the National Association of Securities Dealers.
