Gene Pease, Co-founder and CEO

As Co-Founder and CEO, Gene brings a seasoned business perspective to Capital Analytics, helping to translate our breakthrough statistical methodology into services that bridge the gap between people investments and business results. Gene is a sought-after thought leader and presenter and is regularly on the speaking docket at industry events. Recently he presented at CFO Core Concerns Conference, The Conference Board Human Capital Metrics Conference, ASTD’s Day of Learning and was the 2010 keynote on the Taleo-sponsored Human Capital Institute Innovation Tour.

Gene is an expert at building management teams in startup, early stage and turn-around organizations.  With more than 25 years of experience as a CEO, he has extensive experience and success in raising capital, business development and establishing strategic partnerships. Under his leadership, Capital Analytics has been recognized by Bersin and Associates, CLO Magazine and Gartner (as a 2008 Cool Vendor of the Year, and a 2009 Hype Cycle for Human Capital Management “On the Rise Vendor” for Workforce Decision Support).

Gene earned his MBA with honors in Entrepreneur and Venture Management from the University of Southern California.  He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Architecture from the University of Cincinnati.


Boyce Byerly, Ph.D., Co-founder and Chief Scientist

Boyce has more than 15 years of experience designing and managing pure and applied research projects with high technology firms in the Research Triangle Area of North Carolina. He joined the predecessor company of Capital Analytics, New Course Education, in 2001.  It was at this time that he began the groundwork to develop the methodology and the analytical tools that are the core intellectual assets of the firm.

Boyce has published numerous works on knowledge representation, spatial cognition, expert systems and computer-support cooperative work in the United States, Europe and Africa.  In addition to his publications and research, Boyce has taught psychology, statistics and computer science at Duke University, computer science at Rutgers University and English at Oxford University.

Boyce earned his Ph.D. from Duke University for interdisciplinary work in Computer Science and Cognitive Psychology, using advanced statistical techniques to investigate how the representation of information affects memory and problem solving.  In addition, he holds an MS in Computer Science from Rutgers University, as well as an MA in Psychology and a MS in Computer Science, both from Duke University.  He also completed his undergraduate degree at Duke University, graduating Cum Laude with a BA, double-majoring in English and Computer Science.

Bonnie Beresford, Vice President of Client Services

Bonnie is an industry-recognized practitioner with more than 15 years of experience in the fields of measurement, process improvement, training and performance support. A seasoned executive, she has led cross-functional client teams through process improvement engagements including needs analysis, alternatives evaluation, solutions development, implementation and measurement.

Over her career, her client base has spanned the manufacturing, retailing and hospitality services industries including Chrysler, Ford Motor Company and ITT Sheraton. On behalf of Chrysler, Bonnie directed operational and consulting teams in the conceptual and tactical development and deployment of human performance strategies for retail automotive professionals. Her resulting ROI work and statistical study that isolated the business impact of training earned the client the ASTD 2006  “Excellence in Practice” award and Chief Learning Officer Magazine’s 2008  “Learning Leadership Gold Award.”

Bonnie earned an MBA with honors from Wayne State University and a BS with honors in Marketing and Journalism from Central Michigan University.  She has furthered her education through completion of Executive Practicum programs in Applied Quality Management and Instructional Design at the University of Michigan and is currently pursuing her PhD in Human Capital Management at Bellevue University.

 

Jennifer Murnane, Ph.D., Senior Human Capital Strategist

Jennifer’s experience spans the fields of finance, adult education and human capital.  Her unique experience in securities analysis and management led her to further pursue the value of human capital in organizations.  She has authored several dozen academic and practitioner articles and is a sought-after public speaker in the area of human capital management.

Prior to joining Capital Analytics, Jennifer served as the Associate Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for Bellevue University and was the inaugural Assistant Director of Bellevue University’s Human Capital Lab. She currently serves on the faculty of Bellevue University’s Ph.D. in Human Capital Management program and has won awards for her research and teaching.

Jennifer holds a Ph.D. in Family & Consumer Sciences Education from Iowa State University, as well as an MBA and bachelor’s degree in Finance and Banking from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

 

John Zonneveld, Senior Human Capital Strategist

John brings over seventeen years of experience in corporate training and development, performance and compliance tracking, program management and application design/development. An expert in e-learning strategies, learning management systems (LMS), learning content integration and business process analysis, John has authored numerous trade publication articles and presented at leading industry conferences.

Over the course of his career, John has delivered comprehensive and cost-effective online solutions for Fortune 500 clients including DaimlerChrysler/Mitsubishi, Volkswagen/Audi, KeyCorp Bank, Bank of America and NCR. He previously served as Vice President of Technology at ES3, Inc., a learning technology-focused agency specializing in website, mobile application and eLearning development.  Prior to that, John held the position of Learning Technologies Practice Leader and Senior Consultant with Latitude Consulting Group, and General Manager of Information Technology at Edcor, where he contributed to the development of industry leading LMS and performance tracking online solutions.

John attended the University of Nevada, Reno and Oakland Community College with a focus in IT management and object-oriented analysis and design before beginning his career as a software engineer.  He has been formally trained in business management and project management methodologies.

 

Sara Jensen, Account Executive

Sara manages the public-facing side of Capital Analytics, overseeing business development, marketing and public relations. Her sales and marketing background is primarily in start-up company settings, where she has managed the end-to-end process of acquiring new accounts, negotiating contracts and building client relationships.

Sara brings a background in the training industry, most recently managing Fortune 500 client accounts for a custom e-learning provider. In addition to sales and account management, Sara is also experienced in instructional design and content development.

Sara earned her MA through Duke University’s Humanities program, with a primary focus on nineteenth-century literature. She also holds a BA from Denison University, where she double-majored in English (creative writing concentration) and Theater and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
